Welcome!
My name is Sophia Holland. Amongst other vocations, I’m an artist.
Oftentimes, when people learn that I’m an artist, the first question I’m asked is whether I do fine art, or folk art, and so on.
I like to sum up my response by explaining that I create both fine art and fun art – and get equal satisfaction from each modality.
By using a broad spectrum of techniques ranging from realism to illustration to abstract expressionism, I create a variety of media including drawings, acrylic and watercolor paintings, and digital artwork. I enjoy working with clay and glass and a number of other materials as well. In addition to creating original artworks and commissioned works, I love showing others how to create their own art pieces.
My lifelong love of art and design, and my background as a professional ghostwriter and editor dovetailed recently. With a desire to put all of those God granted gifts to good use – this site took root. Samples from my ongoing art and design portfolio can be seen on the site’s homepage. Those works will be accompanied soon by an upcoming blog titled: A Measure of Faith. Additionally, I am working on writing and illustrating two storybooks based on Christian principles. Rather than categorize them as children’s books – I see them as family books because the lessons they teach are useful for anyone at any age. Lord willing, those projects will be completed in 2025-2026.
My hope is that this site will operate as a platform through which a caring community may be built. Its main purpose is to perform as a connection point wherein I may help others discover their own creative abilities and their own God-given gifts.
I’m excited to begin this venture and pray it will blossom and grow to be of good service to many!
